Giving
Up a Pet The CMHS accepts owner-surrendered
pets between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., seven days a week (excluding
holidays).
While we never turn down a pet in
need, it is heartbreaking to see pets surrendered when
their only "crime" is barking from boredom,
or wandering out of the owner's unfenced yard. Many
owners don't realize that such problems can be easily
and inexpensively managed. Rather than giving up your
pet, consider keeping him and giving up his problem
behavior instead!
We'd love to help you keep your pet
with the family he knows and loves. Please call the
CMHS if you would like to discuss available options
with a staff member.
If you would
like to give your pet another chance, CMHS suggests
you consult this link for advice on solving
behavior problems and other dilemmas.
